Who's Really Hiring?
The coronavirus is a rapidly spreading pandemic that has put many millions of American workers out of a job. There are unprecedented rates of unemployment across the nation, and many fear the total collapse of the economy.
There are two companies that are leading the way to hope for many potential workers with the promise of good jobs. These companies currently hiring workers include Goettl Air Conditioning and Plumbing, and Rite Aid. Both of these well-established businesses are thriving in the current state, and they are focused on expansion.
Rite Aid has goals of hiring 5,000 workers, including cashiers both full and part-time along with distribution workers across the country, and pharmacy technicians. They were not specific about where the jobs would be available; however, many speculate they will begin in many California locations.
Rite Aid will also be giving their hourly workers a $2 an hour raise. Management has received a $1000 bonus, and they have increased their employee discounts to 35% through the end of April 2020.
Goettl Air Conditioning
Goettl Air Conditioning will also be hiring approximately 100 workers between their two locations in Corona and Simi Valley. They will be hiring people into many different positions, including installers, technicians, call-center representatives, management, plumbers, and HVAC services.
Business has not slowed during this time for Goettl. The company is an essential business and is growing and expanding. They currently employ over 600 workers between six different southwest locations.
The CEO of Goettl notes that only approximately 5.1% of clients have canceled their appointments because of the coronavirus.
The company works to address their customer concerns about safety, and he reiterates that HVAC is not a luxury item; it’s essential and a life support system in the home.
His business works to issue hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves to all of their workers, and their offices are professionally cleaned several times a day to prevent contamination.
HVAC Are Pledging 1.5MM
HVAC companies are also committing to pledge $1.5 million to install UVC air purification systems into their employees’ homes. These HVAC services and special systems use ultraviolet light to kill viruses and bacteria. Their goal is to keep their employees as healthy as possible for peace of mind.
