0:26 Ivan Misner 44 Rejections Story
Yeah, we’re talking about Dr. Ivan Meisner’s first book The best -known marketing secret and this book was actually rejected 44 times by Puthitt listeners until the 45th one said yes, and that went on to sell hundreds of thousands of copies But the whole idea here is that every rejection was actually a lesson not a dead end And so when you keep getting rejected over and over again Ask yourself is the universe or the spirit or were your higher power or whatever is it trying to teach you a what a lesson Right or to try to teach you what is it trying to teach you right?

1:01 Stubbornness Defined Repeating Mistakes
And so what’s the difference between stubbornness and persistence? Well, stubbornness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results Ignoring the feedback and repeating yesterday’s mistakes, whereas

1:13 Persistence Defined Adapting Every Attempt
persistence is committed to the destination Flexible about the path but listening refining and adapting with every attempt So persistence is getting better every time the whole idea is when you get rejections or something is failing Listening to the feedback and every time even when it’s hard to hear every time you get a no I know we really isn’t an answer with a clue. So what is that clue? Refined your message improve the proposal and test different approaches because each attempt makes you better than the previous attempt So there’s this

1:47 Vision vs Execution Key Skill
whole concept of vision versus execution and the key skill here is knowing what criticism to accept, right? So protecting the vision is not abending the great idea because you don’t understand it But improving the execution be willing to change how you got there and Ivan Meisner really has a lot of the Ivanisms hold the vision Improve the execution and this is the healthy way to be a dog with a bone, right pivoting is essentially the strategy, right?

2:16 Obstacles Focus on the Vision
So 42 years ago, there were obstacles and a lot of these obstacles are still here today If you focus on the obstacles, they’re gonna stop you from moving forward But if you hold the vision, you’re gonna find a better path, right? Because think of the mobile phone the internet everything’s pivoting towards AI

2:32 Rejection Is Not Wrong Direction
It’s like where you can focus on the vision and so don’t confuse rejection with direction Rejection is not the same as you have the wrong drawing It means that something needs to change not that you need to quit so interpret the vision, right? Don’t ignore it if the market keeps saying no list is interpret the signal and adapt and then so be grateful for the 44 those rejections forced Ivan to become a better author And eventually a New York Times bestseller. He didn’t give up, right?

3:04 Persistence Formula Takeaway
And so this persistence formula of listening and learning refining repeating for growth and saying commitment This helps you repeat the cycle and the growth is the goal and not the survival aspect of the process So your takeaway is to stay committed to the vision Stay flexible about the path keep getting better not bitter Persistence is believing that your vision is enough to improve your execution and Jeremy Ashburn with PushLeads Hope you enjoy this B &I education moment
