0:00 YouTube AI Citations Strategy Overview
Hey, Jeremy with PushLeads here on the PushLeads channel. Just wanted to show you some of the things we’ve been working on here, and pretty exciting stuff here. So first of all, we only have six hundred and seventy-five subscribers, a hundred and forty-three videos. Honestly, we really need to get to about a thousand videos and, and covering different niches. So the first thing here is I learned that, that YouTube alone accounts for about a third to half of the citations out there. And it’s kinda crazy, but we did some deep dives, and we found out that fifty percent of the athlete is actually coming from YouTube when it’s not our clients’ websites. And so Google really looks heavily at YouTube. And so because of that, we’ve been doing both shorts and long videos. So the short videos are ones that I’m doing myself, and we have these kind of videos. And here’s that video I was telling you about that I made. YouTube got cited six thousand times in AI on my client’s site. So I made this video this past weekend and really talking about how all of it went to YouTube. So YouTube is pretty big, and so we need to make a huge push in YouTube. So I made a whole bunch of drivers that actually do that. Okay. So interesting thing here is that shorts bring people to the channel, but shorts actually do not really drive citations according to the research I found here.
1:24 Shorts vs Long-Form Citation Data
So if we go to the channel and just look at it, we can see here that on the shorts, I’m posting on it on five days a week, and I’ve been doing this really the last… I would say the last month or so, I’ve been posting, let’s see, one, two, three. Last three weeks, I’ve been posting five shorts a week. And if you look here, most of these shorts are getting small amount of views here. We’re talking about, like, thirteen views, thirty-five views, five views. This one here with commercial restoration had a hundred and forty-nine views, but most of them pretty low. And honestly, I don’t actually care that I have low views, right? Because I am, you know, three weeks into promoting this channel, right? So that’s cool, but I’m not really pushing really hard to get a lot of views on the channel yet. I’m just looking at doing a variety of niches, and what I really care about is getting cited by AI. And actually, the interesting thing that I found is that the shorts alone only count for five percent of the AI citations, normally speaking, whereas the longs or the regular videos account for ninety-five percent of the equation. So basically, what I’ve been doing here is posting these long videos myself and, and really, I don’t care again that, you know, this one had four views, zero views. It doesn’t matter because basically these are all on different topics.
This is part of our AI search visibility guide.
2:44 Video Schema and Page Embedding Workflow
So this is garage door SEO, and this is everything about garage door SEO. And then this video is embedded on the page, on the garage door SEO page on the site. So what I’ve done is I’ve created drivers that basically do all of this where it, we, we are making the content, and then it loads it to the site. And then here is the page. Let me find it. Here’s the page on the site where I talk about garage door SEO, about garage door SEO, right? And so this is our pre-made and pretty citable. So, so basically, I can now produce one of these videos a day, um, and this is my voice. This is my content, and, and then this video goes directly at the top, embedded in the video with a video schema directly on the page. And then itself, the content is, like, five thousand words long, so plenty of a good citable content for AI there. So I’m basically reinforcing to Google and other AIs that I, I have content that has our video and also the, and also the AI images and also all the content. So this content itself is much more media rich than just text only what we, how we started. So, so basically I can now produce this content and target AI visibility, and that is kind of what I’m really focused about. These influencers reaching out to me, and they’re like, "Hey, I’ll make your channel famous." I’m like, "Look, dude, I just wanna actually get AI visibility." And what I’m doing is I’m testing this with my own, with PushLeads, with my own agency, and then I’m rolling this out after I see some success with this, which I’ve already seen some success. After I see more success with that, then I’m gonna roll this out, um, to my clients, and we’re gonna start going after AI citations through YouTube video.
4:36 AI Visibility Growth Across Perplexity ChatGPT
And this helps with entity SEO, right? ‘Cause we need to be up there with entity SEO. And I asked Claude, "Tell me what kind of growth are we seeing these thirty days?" And if you look here, Perplexity, we’re showing up in twenty-one out of fifty searches there. And in the last thirty days… So the prior thirty days it was, excuse me, looking at twenty-one out of fifty-one wins. We had six prompts we showed up for in the previous thirty days and now ten prompts. ChatGPT was, like, six, and it’s five. And then Google AIO, we didn’t have any kind of way of tracking, and now we’re showing for four distinct prompts. So these are the new searches I’m showing up for in the last thirty days, and these are all AI overview videos. These are all Google AI overviews, and this is all from content that we’re creating. This is, this is from videos we’re creating as well as content on the site there, right? So, um, how much does water damage restoration cost? How much does fire damage restoration cost? How do contractors YouTube, YouTube to get newer calls? And how to market a restoration company. And Perplexity, the same thing. How to market restoration business. How do I get more leads? How do contractors use YouTube videos to get more calls? So what this growth tells you is that all the work I’m doing in restoration is actually working. It’s so great to actually see the work working. This is where I cue mad scientist laugh ’cause I consider myself the mad SEO scientist. Sorry, that was my maniacal laugh. I was trying to hold back. I should really give you a full one, but no, that’s kinda crazy. And so we also have persistent zeros where we’re not getting any visibility there. That’s fine. So bottom line is this is working, and I have the ability now to, just on an ongoing basis, publish ongoing content that I’m all doing manually that are short content, um, to get people to the channel, and then long form content that actually gets the citations.
6:34 Long-Form Video Length That Drives Citations
And according to studies, content, if you’re making videos, YouTube videos that are, you know, twelve to fifteen minutes is what actually gets the citations, not like these Short short videos. So I’m doing a mix- short mixture of both. If you come to the channel, you might see a variety of things, and I honestly don’t even care about my subscriber count. I just care about producing high quality content that could get cite– that is getting cited. And check this out. This is the actual short that’s being cited right now, cited in AI Overview. So we have one short that’s being cited, and then we also have one long form, why your restoration company is not showing up in Google and how to fix it. Two videos that were published on the eighth and the fourteenth of this month that are now being cited. So what is that? Like, three, three weeks? One week? And what’s happening, it’s, it’s being cited there, and it’s also being cited on the blog page.
7:28 Live AI Overviews Citation Demo
So it showed it up… If I do this search, let’s see if we can recreate it. Cue the mad scientist laugh. I think this is going to work. I don’t know. Here we go. What water damage costs. And look, there’s my short there. Right there. Bam. And, and then I’m… And I’m not… And I’m showing above Servpro. And let’s see if I could show… Just scrolling down. Oh, here we go. I’m right here. So I’m showing at the very top. I’m showing up right here in, in YouTube and right here on my website. So this is actually showing that what I’m doing is working. Bam. This is the power of video SEO. And this is only, like, what? Three weeks into it. So this is… This video is so good, I’m gonna put this on YouTube and LinkedIn. So just wanna show you that the work that we’re doing for our own agency is actually producing results. And whenever people start contacting us, more restoration companies, and we, you know, build up our portfolio there. We’ve got a couple clients right now. We’re looking to build that up to five between the end of the year. If you are a restoration company and you’re looking for restoration SEO, can look no further than to us. We’ll do an evaluation of your current company, and we’ll also look at what’s happening with your current company, and then what kind of suggestions we could make to improve it. And this is just an example of all the PowerPoints that I’ve been working on. A lot of these are shorts because I’m trying to get some visibility there. Anything about people finding you on Google AI, about YouTube videos being important, about structured day. I’m scheduling, like, five a week. And then I’m also doing Loom videos that I’m recording and sending to my clients as well. I made a presentation to a guy that was like, "Hey, how do I show up? How do I get my Google Business listing going?" So I did this entire short presentation here, so it opens up on his phone. And you look here, these audits I’m doing.
9:17 Restoration Client Audit and Three-Phase Process
This is an audit I do. So if you are a restoration company and you want, you know, more visibility, the first thing to do is have an audit, right? So find out where you are on the map, find out where you are in Google. In this case, why is your verification failing if you are failing your verification. And, and then, on down the list here of, you know, what, how, how your rank, how your domain is ranking in Google. And of course, who owns page one in search, which is a lot of times Servpro. And of course, it is possible to beat the n- the national franchises. So if you are independent franchise, it is possible to… Ongoing work, right? SEO agencies or marketing agencies aren’t doing any work. It’s just the same story every day. But some are, right? These, this is different website gaps that we found in the site. They don’t have an address. They don’t have schema markup. They have duplicate About page. They have different phone numbers. So we’ll do a full audit of everything, and then we’ll come up with a three-phase process of, "If you wanna work together, here’s what we’re gonna do. Stop the bleeding. Start publishing ongoing content. Clean the foundation. Disavow any kind of toxic links on the site, and then build the assets. Do citation building. Build inner city pages. Publish inner hidden pages, city pages, and service pages are super critical." So doing this audit up- up front, it allows us to also have a baseline of what we’re doing. And the baseline is everything, right? Because how are you gonna measure success if you actually can’t know where you’re starting from? And that’s the real, real reason why we created this dashboard that
10:50 Client AI Visibility Dashboard Walkthrough
we’re rolling out with all of our clients, and I’ve showed it before. But this is our, this is our restoration client in Northwest Arkansas. They found me on ChatGPT. And we can see here, the dashboard here, we can see that their AI visibility is fourteen point nine. They are showing up for thirteen mentions and over thirteen pages. And I can see exactly Perplexity, Google AI Overview, ChatGPT. I can see what search engine, what prompts we’re tracking, and how many mentions they’re getting, and how many citations they’re getting in each one. And when you go here to the AI tab, here’s the breakdown of the share of voice. How much, um, market do we have? In this case, Restoration One or the rebranded one eight hundred… The voice market. And then AI visibility, they’re showing up in two ChatGPTs, two Perplexities, and, like, two out of eight tracked there. And then for the AI visibility, and then here’s the actual prompts they’re showing up for. So I can go here to this Prompts tab, and I can see the fire damage. Let’s try this again. I can’t draw. There we go. It’s a Monday, right? Who to call for fire damage in Northwest Arkansas. The intent is a buyer tent, and we’re cited by ChatGPT and AI Overview. And so now we can just keep tracking that and then also insights. Regular visibility is, on a desktop version, it’s one– one percent, which seems super low, but I’ll show you the actual keywords. And so it’s about the same on desktop versus mobile. But we can see here that they’re showing up for sewage cleanup, building restoration service, home restoration near me, storm damage contractors. So they also have home services, so water heater replacement, fire damage repair, water damage near me. So we’re number three for that. Um, and, uh, toilet installer ’cause they have, like I said, a variety of services. Um, and then, um, other terms are on Google’s, you know, the bottom of Google’s first page or Google’s second page. So we’re tracking all of that. We’re also tracking the competition. And our client has one percent of the market for regular search. ServPro has twenty percent. Paul Davis has fifteen percent. So we know where we need to go here. We are, you know, probably the tenth down on the list here. We can see Lytics, their traffic is going up.
13:00 Ethical SEO and Content Publishing Standards
Check this out. On average, about eighteen to twenty sessions a day. Searches there from organic. Hundred and sixty-six from, from AI or direct search, and then paid. We’re doing Google LSA and local service ads, and we can see their top pages here. So I’m rolling this all out for all my clients so they could see it. Here’s Google Ads. This is their ad spend, how many conversions, what the cost is conversion, the return on spend. We can break it out over ninety days if we wanna see a ninety-day spend or a seven-day spend. So I’ve been building this dashboard for like about four months, and I’m super happy about it, and I’m just gonna keep showing it because anyone who is anyone will see the value of a, an actual company being ethical and doing ethical work. And you know what? There’s this whole concept called ethical SEO, and it basically means that you are going to do what you say you’re going to do, right? ‘Cause so many of these marketing companies out there, this one client I’m talking to this week, the previous company wasn’t doing any work, right? We saw one blog published in a hundred and eighty days. Like, you need two to four blogs a week and twenty to forty inner pages a month, bro, to publish on your site, or you’re not gonna show up for AI. And you need to be on YouTube, bro. Sorry, I keep saying bro. I have too much time with Gen Z. I don’t even have a lot of Gen Z people that I talk to, but too much time on TikTok, I guess. But you need long-form content to show up on your, on your, on your channel. So greatest thing is we all now have all the content that we’re publishing directly on, on the website content tab, and this looks great on a mobile phone as well. So I can see here Emergency Plumber Cave Springs. This is a blog. I can see the blog right here and et cetera.
14:43 Key Takeaway for Restoration Companies
So and we can see all the silos we’re publishing, and then we can see all the, you know, all the links we’re building, uh, the site visualizer showing a graph of all the pages on the site and how many pages are linked to each other and what that looks like. There it is right there. So you can see here that we have a lot of content we’ve been publishing, and all this content has internal links to them. And then our tool here is pages that don’t have internal links, et cetera. The main issues, the high critical issues, and then the issues we’re working on fixing, the fixes we’re working on, um, any kinda cannibalization pages, pages that are competing with each other. And then what the estimated revenue is over time based on that, what strategy we’re following, and if we’re doing any kinda website builds. So, so yeah, really make it– made some huge progress there. And your main takeaway here is that if you have a restoration business and you’re not on YouTube, you need to be posting long-form educational content that answers the common question that your clients ask. So I’m Jeremy Ashburn with PushLeads. I help small businesses get more leads without struggle and frustr-
